It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of George Hardwick, 82, of Crestwood. George passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025 surrounded by his children.

A devoted father, grandfather and friend, George dedicated more than five decades of his life serving the community as a member of the Crestwood Fire Department. He was not only a skilled firefighter but a mentor and a brother to all that worked beside him. His legacy is one of service and sacrifice for the people of Crestwood. George was a truck driver by trade until he retired. He enjoyed car shows, having coffee with his friends and always being that person you could count on if you needed anything at all.

George is survived by his three children, Shelley (George) McDaniels, Tammi (Ralph) Adkins, Michael (Laurie) Hardwick, seven grandchildren, Katie, Scott, Colin, Steven, Nicole, Stefani, Adam and seven great-grandchildren, Jace, Liam, Nolan, Taylor, Evelyn, Bennett and Silas, his long-time companion Mary Nowak, cherished sister-in-law Andrea and his best friend Luca. He is preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and parents Alfred and Helen. George was a hero to many and will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th Street, Crestwood.
